Although it sounds like it was inspired by living through a global pandemic, I actually started writing "Dreams" in 2017 while experiencing several big life changes (graduation, marriage, moving across the country, searching for a job). I literally didn't know where I would be in a month or three, hence that particular lyric, and wrote this song

I literally didn't know where I would be in a month or three, hence that particular lyric, and wrote this song as both a reminder to myself and an inspirational message for others. Lyrics and song structure were both updated this year before I entered the studio.

The cover art was drawn by Danny Fernandez (https://www.dannyfernandezart.com/shop) based on an original design by Alex. It was inspired by the Mapuche kultrun, a drum that is used for sacred ceremonies, and is an homage to my Chilean heritage.

I wrote this song for my lovely partner and wife Alex. The first time I played it was a surprise performance at our wedding. The infinity heart has been a symbol of our love from early in our relationship

I wrote the first version of this song in 2016 after taking Santa Cruz famous jazz improvisation classes with Ray Brown. The music was inspired by my new knowledge of jazz chords and the lyrics were inspired by a trip Alex and I took to Lake Tahoe, where I proposed to her, and the incredible blue / green colors we found there.

I updated the lyrics and song structure last year (2022) to make it shorter and more expressive. This is the jazziest and mellowest song that I have released, and I'm really happy with how it turned out!
