Although it sounds like it was inspired by living through a global pandemic, I actually started writing "Dreams" in 2017 while experiencing several big life changes (graduation, marriage, moving across the country, searching for a job). I literally didn't know where I would be in a month or three, hence that particular lyric, and wrote this song as both a reminder to myself and an inspirational message for others. Lyrics and song structure were both updated this year before I entered the studio.
